MNRF Dryden Aviation Operations Building
Keewatin-Aski provided design and contract administration services for a new, two-storey office building added onto the existing MNRF Dryden Fire Management Centre (FMC). The combined floor area of thee new office space is 14,478 square feet.
The new addition serves as one of the hubs for the MNR’s management of aviation operations (AV-Ops) for the Northwest Region and is tactically located at the Dryden Regional Airport where CL-415 water bombers, helicopters, and other various attack and detection aircraft are based. In addition to technical and administrative staff, the facility also provides MNR pilots with suitable rest areas.
The building design features sustainable building technologies including a high performance building enclosure, high efficiency mechanical and electrical systems, and provisions for future roof mounted photovoltaic arrays.
